Hello all. This is my first time posting here. Looks like a nice/helpful place. I've purchased the above modem (branded Vodafone) from a friend who did unlock it before he sold it to me. We installed Mobile Partner 11.302.09.01.539 and flashed the modem with the newest firmware from this site. I am in Ghana and want to use it with MTN because I hear they support 3.5g. Forgive me because I am new to this stuff. But I figured out APN: internet, username/pw, guest/guest (for MTN). My questions are as follows:
1) Is there diffeent APN for grps/3g/etc, or is it all the same?
2) Where on the net can I find a CURRENT list of the network providers info (APN, username/pw) to connect with all the networks in Ghana (Vodafone,MTN,Zain,TiGO)? All of the links and pages I found concerning Ghana info are badly outdated, don't even list the current providers.
3) Will having VMC on my machine create some kind of conflict with MP? Reason I am asking is I cannot seem to get MP to connect with Vodafone so currently need it to connect to Vodafone network.
4) Last question: Are the network providers themselves supposed to provide this info (APN/username/pw?) or are they reluctant because they want you to use their branded devices? It is like pulling teeth in this country to get this info from providers, and I am met with blank stares when I go to a corporate office and kept on hold for 1 hour when I call only to be told they don't know or cannot provide that 'proprietary' info.
