I have now just tried on a desktop that has no internal modem.
I get this error below:

Any ideas ?

If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the connection software for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Also, check, if no other huawei modems are connected at detect time.

Is it possible to unlock this router? I am plannig to buy one but I need to unlock it to get it to work :P

Yes, this router is supported and can be unlocked by dc-unlocker.
