Hi,
I have a problem with a Huawei modem that I am hoping someone here may be able to help mw with.
I am having an issue with my work and to resolve it I need to create a standard windows dial up connection that uses the Huawei E1752 modem. This needs to be a voice connection (not internet).
The modem I have has Voice Calling enabled on it and it is working perfectly through Mobile Partner. However, I am unable to get it to dial a number via a dial up connection.
I can create the connection and set the number (which does not need username or password) but when I hit the connect button I get the error "Error 678: The remote computer did not respond"
I cannot figure out why it can dial out using the Mobile Partner software but it can't by using the dial up connection.
I've tried searching the internet for a solution but I haven't found one. A couple of hits mentioned AT commands but I've had no success finding out if I need to use them or what commands to use.
Sorry, forgot to mention that it's XP Pro I'm using although at home I have Vista and 7 and I've encountered the same problem.

Problem summery: I need to create a dial-up connection using my Huawei E1752 which allows me to call a remote computer without having to use the Mobile Partner software

Any help or advise at all would be greatly appreciated because the frustration level I'm at currently is driving me crazy.
Thanks in advance
Niall
