I am trying to unlock a Huawei B260 UMTS Router.
I cannot get DC-Unlocker to find and identify the device.
I have tried this with both Windows 7 and Windows XP, both on actual Windows Notebooks and with VirtualBox VMs running on a Mac, without any success, using the most recent version, V1.00.0597, which expressly says it supports the B260 "all versions and carriers".
I have got the DC-Unlocker client to find and identify the router exactly one time, but only when the cable to the router was the only network connection. As soon as the WIFI interface is on (to provide the internet connectivity needed by DC-Unlocker to connect to its server) the router does not get found.
Can anyone who has actually DONE this tell me how they did?
Digiteka Live Chat were not very helpful either, suggesting using a previous version of the software when their own download page says that B260 support was only added in the most recent version.
They say to make sure DHCP is turned on on the B260; however, then the B260 tells my PC to route all internet traffic through it which of course fails because it isn't unlocked yet and internet should really go through WIFI.
I wish they would provide an input field for the IP address of the router, and then go find it that way, rather than this arcane trying to detect it in some strange way which obviously fails .
