Resetting the INQ Chat Phone Password

I'v been having trouble with my INQ Chat 3g, I'v forgotten the phone password so I'm completely locked out. I'v asked for help on the INQ support forums and was told there's nothing I can do but to ask here, as you might be able to help me reset this.

Try this:
1. Turn on the phone and when prompted to enter password enter 1234

2. Press END key twice quickly at the password error screen.

3. Press the dial pad icon.

4. Enter *1673492846 then press the down key on the Dpad

5. Select menu option 8, 1, 1

By the end key I guess you mean the Red button? But I don't know what you mean by the dial pad icon.
