E160 voice activation - then disappears!

Hi all, new to the forum,
OK so had an unlocked E160X and wanted to activate the voice function, Paid my credits, opened DC Unlocker, checked the server ... all OK so far!
Went to activate the voice function ... screen flashes a little ... message said "Voice function activated. Please remove modem" or something very similar.

I did and guess what ... the thing seems to not be recognised as a modem at all now! Win7 doesn't see it, DC Unlocker doesn't see it anymore, dashboard doesn't see it! Just the CD option opens up and the blue light flashes ... but no modem!!!

Any ideas????

PS Chcked in Device manager in win7 ... no strange entries ...

Well I can hardly believe it!

Thanks for the heads up, but I can barely believe it. I left the thing half an hour or so after I had removed the USB storage from Device Manager in Win 7, and like magic the laptop suddenly recognises the modem and loads drivers! What is going on here .. this should be a sticky!

I'm an IT Technician amongst other things, but I dunno what's going on here. Anyway, thanks for the (wierd!) advice .... but patience did the trick.
