No Modem detected
Hi @all,
I tried every hint, given in this thread,
3 button method, 2 button method (Power Vol-)
changed cable
tried with XP and several drivers
tried with Win 7
tried on 2 laptops
I won't get it to work.
I always get the message: No Modem detected
Because I already bought credits, I want to bring it to an end.
My device is U8160/858 Vodafone
Android version 2.2.2
Kernel 2.6.32.9-perf
Build: U8160V100R001c2B650
Could you please help me?
Thanks
Tom

Same Problem with Huawei U8160 unlock - What am I doing wrong?
Not sure if you can help, I think I've followed all the instructions but am wondering if I've missed a step or not got my phone in fast boot mode correctly.
I downloaded the drivers to my desktop (windows XP on laptop) from :
On the phone I held in -vol and pressed the power on, and the phone starts with a picture of an hour glass (is this the fast boot mode?).
Within Device manager the phone is detected as Android Device-Torres?
I then installed the drivers within windows and in device driver it changes to Android device-Android Composite USB device
I think that's the drivers connected successfully.
Are there any other steps required with the drivers?.
I then disconnected the phone and opened DC Unlocker client. I started the phone again in fast boot mode by holding the -volume key and the power button until the phone starts with a black screen and hour glass symbol. I connect the phone with USB.
Within the DC Unlocker client software, I have then selected the Huawei phones option and left autodetector on the model number.
I then hit the detect phone magnifying glass button
It comes back with :
DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0884
Detecting phone :
selection :
manufacturer - Huawei phones
model - Auto detect (recommended)
Phone not found !
My phone is a vodafone 858 Smart / Huawei U8160
imei 356652046192512
Can you advise me if you think I'm missing a step or not following the procedure step by step correctly?

Also, be sure that use driver that are provided in instructions link, not any other.
After each not detected error restart phone by removing batter for 20 seconds, then connect and try detecting again.

Also when I'm trying to get into the fastboot there is no sandclock but the green android logo and it hangs there. In the device manager it is recognised as android 1.
Any help is much appreciated because this was bought as a birthday present for my niece and I've I don't manage to unlock it before the end of next week I won't be able to give it to her for her birthday.
regards,
Zeppi
