U8150 - cant access mobile internet after unlocking
Unlocked a pre-paid Virgin-locked U8150, put a pre-paid Optus SIM in (from an Optus tablet, which was working fine on the net), could make phone calls but not access the internet. I defined an Optus APN according to info on the net, so I don't think its that.
Cancel that, it works - problem was that the internet said to use PAP authentication on the APN definition, seems to require none.
One thing though - I'm still seeing Virgin listed as the network names (no Optus). It should be Optus. Is this something I can fix? I'd like to know the names of the networks actually available wherever I am.

To see available networks you should use manual network search. After it you will see all available notworks.

That's what I meant - when you do that, you see Virgin networks not Optus.
Anyway I resolved it by installing a custom ROM. The networks now show as Optus. There must have been some hardcoded network name swapping in the stock firmware.
