If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the connection software for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version.

I get the same problem, i cant find the required Huwaieeuusu (or however you spell it!!) software anywhere. Any tips?

Make sure drivers are installed.
Use latest DC-Unlocker client software. http://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/get/DpddXmOh
Use Autodetect.
Make sure modem is not connected to internet.
Make sure modems connection software is turned off.
Try restarting your computer.
Try other computer.
