    Hi there,

having issues with the usage. if i set the software( client) to autodetect it only is finding the huawai modem i use to get to the internet, not my huawai phone even through i preselect "phone" and not data card. i also manually set the comports, but then the phone is not detected at all - i tried all possible combinations.

this is the error messages i get:

    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0738

    Detecting phone :

    selection :
    manufacturer - Huawei phones
    model - Huawei U8160/Vodafone 858 Smart

    Found Phone : E173
    IMEI : 86xxxxxxxxxxx63
    Firmware : 11.126.85.00.00

Sorry, this phone is not supported !

And if setting the ports manually i get the "phone not fund" error.

How to get that to work ?

    regards

    Dominik Halbherr

i may have not gotten it into the right mode to be recognized, i get the hourglass and nothing else when pressing powerbutton and volume down, and also if i press power and volume up and if trying bith volume up and down combined with power-button and home-key ( positioned where the call-end button would be that is mentioned in the manual - the 858 does not have that button ) but only get into that mode except for the regula rboot if not pressing any buttons of course.

how to get the vodafone smart 858 / huawai u8600 in the right mode if this is not allready the right mode and the issue originates of something else ?

Sorry, but you will have to try other connection method. As sometimes it might be problems detecting the correct device when there are few same manufacturers devices connected.
You should connect via LAN or Wifi. Or try other manufacturers modem.

Vodafone 858 smart/Huawei U8160 puts in fastboot mode this way:
Turn off the phone. Press Power shortly. Then press and HOLD Vol- and Power buttons until your phone screen becomes purple (the phone hangs). This will enter to fastboot mode. Then connect your phone to computer and follow the rest of instructions.

all i get with the power on short and pressing volume down and powerbutton for more than one minute straight in after is agan the sandclock.
background light for the 4 lower softbuttons stays on.

if i do not touch bowerbutton the second time but only volume up or down it goes into sandclock mode, too, but shuts off the backgound lights shuts of in after 10 seconds.

if pression poweron shortt, then volume UP and the homebutton of the stillilluminated softbuttons bar i get into the system recovery screen which lets me choose from options like regular boot, cache / misc wipe, factory reset and update from sd card-

        but no plain violet screen.

        Any ideas ?

Ok, what happens if you try to detect phone with DC-Unlocker when your phone screen is with sandclock?
Can you copy here what DC-Unlocker shows?
Does your phone appear in Device Manager as "Android" or "ASUS bootloader interface"?

i will try the detection now with my modem ( only have the huawai atm, no wifi) plugged put and sandclock on.

pressing powerbutton and the vlume button both up and down gets me directely into ( fastboot ? it was like 2 seconds only) a firmware update message that reports tht firmware update failed in step one of 2, unpacking.

the device is recognized by windows as torres in one mode and as android 1.0 in another, the drivers i have installed are the generic ones form the huawai site as thes did not offer driver software for the exact model.

i was in fears that it could also be a driver problem, but this would apply at a later stage only ?
Are there better drivers than that one or alternate drivers at all.

USB debugging option in the phone is enabled, i tried it with disabled, too.

Good. Now update its drivers by following the procedure ( http://www.dc-unlocker.com/huawei_u8...lock_procedure ). You can also find drivers in the same link.

in sandclock ode windows cannot find any drivers for it, even if pointing to the downloaded usb drivers from huawai, the downloaded program files or the dirver cache or inf files in windows folder.

windows tries to install android 1.0 drivers for that.

it is recognized fine if pluging it in when booting regularly or being allready booted up.

in dc unlocker there are no options to set the com port now (empty dropdown menue), neither automatic nor manual detection do work:

                  DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0738

                  Detecting phone :

                  selection :
                  manufacturer - Huawei phones
                  model - Auto detect (recommended)

                  Phone not found !

Unsure if this is caused by missed android "1.0" drivers or by the phone not being in fastboot mode.

it is also not detected by dcunlocker client if i connect the fully booted phone to dc unlocker and it shows up in device manager.

You did not follow the instructions at all.
                    You have to:
                    1. Put phone in fastboot mode (how to do it, is described before).
                    2. Install drivers from our procedure link (not from Huawei).
                    3. Detect phone.
                    4. Unlock phone.

fund the pulse drivers, unszipped them and pointed the hardware installer to them.

                      worked.

did let dc unlocker client detect the phone with the modem unplugged - worked in sandclock mode.

reconnected the modem, connected to the serverand went through unlock.

Sucessfully unlocked now. no purple screen, other than this the manual is spot on but should highlight the need to install your driver set ontop of the huawai drivers a bit more.

Thanks a lot for the assistance, will recommend/ reuse your service !
