updating firmware - huawei UMG - 1831

Hi all,

Newbie here and hope you guys wil help me out. I have searched for days, bt didnt find satisfying answr. Herez da prob guys,

Recently I bought a huawei umg-1831 usb modem which was locked to T-Mobile and now unlocked.
Its running on t-mobile web connect manager 2.05(current for this model in t mobile) and t mobile firmware.
Then I thought bout flashing it with latest huawei mobile partner ver.21(which i found to be new and it is said that voice enabled) and with t-mobile firmware or firmware from dc-files.

Then i came to doubt that, can i flash just huawei mobile partner while using t-mobile firmware or if i should flash firmware with generic huawei firmware too?
And would flashing either of these updates will again locked down my modem? (I mean that flashing huawei firmware, mobile partner or even updating t mobile firmware)

No, you do not need to change firmware if want to change mobile partner version.
You need to update dashboard.
No, updating dashboard will not lock your modem.

And if you could help me, I need to know whether if I flash new firmware into this modem, It has T-Mobile firmware 11.826 and I have downloaded T-Mobile 11.831 and also huawei 11.831.05 from DC-Files,

*would updating firmware lock down the modem?
*and what would be the best version to flash? T-Mobile firmware or Huawei firmware?

I am intending to use customized mobile partner v21 which I mentioned earlier.
And brother, would I need a flash code and unlock code again during the updating firmware? if it is, can you kindly direct me how to find them. I saw couple of sites, but not sure about a best one. thanks again Vincentas.

Updating firmware should not lock it also.
You may need firmware update (flash code) code when updating.

Sorry, we do not have firmware files.

flashed with t-mobile firmware and using mbile partner 21. works very well. it was used to disconnect every half an hour. now worked straight 4 hours. m very happy and achieved 13mbps speed on etisalat sri lanka. thank you vincentas for your help.
