  • Huawei E160 unlocking question

    First off i would like to say hello to all you folks out there.

    Secondly
    I have a Huawei E160 dongle that came as an O2 boxed dongle but i w2ish to unlock this dongle but looking at the information below the dongle looks like it is indeed unlocked anyway. Can someone please confirm it is unlocked

    what sim card is inserted to device at detect time? Original (same provider as modem) or other provider?

      Well i read a blog site regarding what to download and how to test dongle and this is what that site requested we do.. I personly tested the dongle without any sim card installed as instructed to do below in red

      To check your system with DC-Unlocker, download the software application and install on your computer. Remove the SIM card from your dongle and plug it into your computer, then select the appropriate brand. The software will automatically detect supported SIM cards and tell you if it is locked or not.
      Unlocking a dongle is completely legal, but the mobile service provider will not be happy about it and you will likely lose any warranty offered with the device.

          You should try to insert other providers (not original) SIM card into the modem and then detect again with DC-Unlocker.
          Software then will show real SIM lock status.
