    Hi.

I recently bought a 3mobile pay as you go dongle. It's already cost me £45 in 20 days due to the horrible bandwidth limits they give you.

I was told that I could unlock it and use an o2 iphone sim card that gives unlimited free wireless for a one time cost of £10 top up.

I have bought this sim card and it has arrived today

He pointed me in the direction of this site and told me to use it to unlock my Huawie E156g modem in order to use my new iphone sim card.

Problem is that I have no idea what I am doing.

Is there a dc unlocker guide for dummies that I can use or a step by step thing?

    Thanks

Okay so I found the video tutorial for unlocking a huawei router.

I followed it but when I click the magnifying glass I get this:

Why is it saying card not found?

Here only two butons is needed, detect and "unlock or do job"
To detect modem modem drivers must installed correctly and modem must free of other operations (not started mobile partner, vodafone connect and etc.)

        Thanks for the reply

I disconnected the modem then ran the magnifying glass button again and now it is saying "diagnostic port not found".

        Please advise

        Thanks!

You need to have your dongle connected to your laptop/PC, but NOT connected to the internet. I tried to unlock by using the dongle as my connection to the web and used up 15 credits before realising it was not the way to go about it.
Best way I can think of is go to a free Wi-Fi spot, connect through Wi-Fi, run DC-unlocker with your dongle connected, but make sure it's not hooking up with 3.

I haven't tried this method yet, but it should work, if what I've read elsewhere in the forum and user guide is anything to go by.

            Hey thanks again.

I have switched the modem off and taken the simcard out and plugged it back in but I still get diagnostic port not found.

Do I need to be connected to the internet via another connection to solve this problem?

Of course you should have connected to the internet while you are unlockin the modem. Please use this easy steps.

1.Plug your modem to the pc without sim
              2.close the connection manager
3.do not select the model manually, leave it auto detect
              4.detect the modem
              5.unlock the modem

Note - you need to have 15 credits for this operation.

                  One other thing.

When I go to buy the credits to I select "New User" or "Dongle User"?

                  Thanks
