  • Huawei E585 Modem Not Found?

    Hi All,
I have asked "Support" for help but so far no reply - That Said IT IS Sunday, so maybe nobody working.

I have installed the DC Client Software, and done the following:
    Huawei E585 By The Way!

    1. Removed sim.

    2. Left Battery Out? is this correct?

    3. Connected to USB on Windows Machine

    4. Launched DC Unlocker Client Software From Desktop

    5. Selected Huawei

    6. Left on Auto Detect

    7. Clicked search

    Got the following message:

    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0842

    Detecting card :

    selection :
    manufacturer - Huawei modems
    model - Auto detect (recommended)

    modem not found !

I have tried setting the details manually but still not detected. I have also tried on a Huawei E353 USB Dongle and I get the same message.

Clearly, the software is unable to "Detect" the modems.....any help please?

    Regards,

If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the connection software for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version.

        Latest!

        Right...this software simply doesn't work!

I have tried EVERYTHING! Including your points stated here!

I have tested on TWO seperate machines (Windows XP + Windows Vista)

The Modem IS detected in Windows, and this can be clearly seen in "My Computer" but is totally missed by the software.

I have tried three different leads....
I have tried with the sim IN & OUT...
I have tried with the battery IN & OUT...

I have followed the instructions to the letter....but NO GOOD!

The software doesn't seem to work - Sorry!

Wasted £10 but hey, That's Life!

Just to clarify, I am trying to unlock the Huawei E585.

        PLEASE HELP!
As I am now really stuck!

          Try to do this:
Go to Network connections of your computer. You will see 2 devices of your modem - one of them will be Wifi. Disable it and try again to detect your modem with DC-Unlocker.
If that does not work, try to do this:
Open Network connections of your computer. Find your router there. Right click> Properties> Internet (TCP/IP) > Properties.
          IP address: 192.168.2.1
          Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
          Ok>Ok.
          Try again to detect.
