    E1550 modem driver

ok people..... i sell the e1550 on ebay and i have been flashing them with the e160 dashboard..... the modems wont work it just installs mobile partner. what i have done is uploaded the E1550 driver.exe file here
FileFactory is the best place to upload and share files with no limits since 2005. Send and receive any type of file up to a massive 5GB with unlimited file bandwidth.

    and here

i have done this on another laptop and can confirm that it installs the drivers for the E1550 modem.
i not too good with file hosting so if some one could advise a better way of hosting i would be interested

please let me know how you get on cos i could email you the file too

Yes!!! Updated my e1550 with firmware update for e1553 from the link and now it seems to work just like it should: e1550 installs automaticly first mobile partner and then drivers!

      Here is the file: E1553Update_11.608.12.04.21.B416.exe

I tried that firmware upgrade too, but it didn't work at all. Well, the flashing worked, but the modem does not. It just flashes green every three seconds. How old/new is your E1550? Mine is from August 4th. I contacted my ISP (Tele2 Sweden) and they say there is a firmware available at the Huawei support forum, but I can't access the download because Huawei won't let me upgrade my "Common User" account to "Equipment User". Not very good service for us end-users.

I guess I have to continue using this Samsung S100 phone as a modem. GPRS at 33 kilobits. Slower than snail stuck in concrete...

I'll buy a new modem next week.

He, this is odd. I tested with the Tele2 prepay SIM card that came with the modem. Result = no detection of any networks at all; signal strength 0%.
Then an old (3 years)Vodafone prepay SIM; result = detection of 2g network green diode blinky, but Mobile Partner says 0% signal strength. So I inserted a recently purchased Telenor prepay SIM. Tada, 3g detection blue diode blinky stuff and Mobile Partner reports signal strength properly. Woohoo!!

But I still don't get it; both the Tele2 and Telenor SIM cards are brand new. The modem should be able to detect networks with either card. Could it have something to do with the firmware being from the Australian Three operator?

It's not really a problem anymore, i'm just mildly confused. Oh, the MDMA software seems unable to detect networks no matter which of the SIM cards I use. Not really a problem, I just thought I put it out there for people to know.

That software does NOT update mobile partner to e1550. It only fixed problem caused by updating e1550 with e160 models dashboard update (includes mobile partner).

what does that means? Is E160 Mobile Partner update working with drivers if I install this update on E1550 first?

i tried to use e160 dashboard and it successfully loaded into the e1550 , but the problem is the windows doesn;t recognize the e1550 (as seems like mobile partner doesn;t have e1550 driver)
