  • Huawei E585 Modem not found

I have not got very far in my attempt to unlock my Huawei E585. Following the email instructions. I'm a Mac user so have borrowed a Windows laptop just to do this unlock and am not familiar with Connection Manager Software? What's that? Says it installs automatically so I skip that bit. Already says Huawei E585 and Auto detect so I click the Search icon and get 'modem not found !' message. What now?

If you get modem not found error, please check this:
    Make sure drivers are installed.
    Use latest DC-Unlocker client software.
    Use Autodetect.
Make sure modem is not connected to internet.
Make sure modems connection software is turned off.
    Try restarting your computer.
    Try other computer.

Connection software is software that is used to connect with modem to internet. But, I think that your modem does not have it and works by admin panel from browser. So, you do not need connection software, but be sure that admin panel is closed.

If your modem is using connection software, make sure it is not running.
If your modem is using web interface in browser, then make sure that browser is not running.

Also, you have to make sure that modem that you are trying to unlock is not connected to internet. For internet connection you should choose other manufacturers modem (like ZTE) or other connection method (like LAN, Wifi, etc.).
