Can't read SIM lock status on Huawei E586

Trying to unlock my Huawei E586 and not having much luck with the DCU app. The issue is that the SIM Lock Status is in "unknown (read error)" status. I've tried searching for similar issues, but didn't see anything the same as mine. Can anybody help me out? Please and thanks!

Try to use older dc-unlocker version and be sure that there is not original sim (sim from other provider) inserted at detect time.

Excellent, thanks a million for the advice. I changed to a different network's SIM, and that didn't work, so I downloaded the version where E586 support was added (build 716) and it properly detected the device as card locked, and unlocked it!
