Huawei E586 SIM Lock status unknown(read failed)

Hi, In advance of buying credits I have downloaded and installed the latest client. I then connected my Huawei E586E mobile Wifi device and ran the detect modem option. It comes back with the following details:

DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0890

Detecting card :

selection :
manufacturer - Huawei modems
model - Huawei E586

Found modem : E586Es-2
Model : Huawei E586
Firmware : 21.322.06.01.105
Compile date / time : May 7 2012 10:30:16
Hardware ver. : CH1E586E
Dashboard version : UTPS1.09.00.105_MAC1.09.00.105
SIM Lock status : unknown(read failed)

I assume that the the client will not be able to unlock this device because of the sim lock status. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

its ok. I followed the instructions found below or in another post. I just installed an older version of the unlocker and it worked!

Do you know where I can get info on how to reconfigure the modem now so it can take an O2 SIM card instead>? If not its ok thanks for coming back to me anyway!
