Also, be sure that not original sim is inserted to device at detect time.

Hello, I've just had the same problem but followed Vincentas's instructions - used previous version without sim inserted and have successfully unlocked my E5331.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem with my Huawei e5331.
I have probed with sim, without sim, with 1.00.0884, 1.00.0889 and 1.00.0890.
1.00.0890 doesn't detect the lock.
1.00.0884 doesn't returns error. Simply returns without result.
1.00.0889 returns the error 61:

Any idea?

You can generate unlock code by IMEI using DC-Unlocker software for free.
Then, insert other providers SIM card, launch connection software and enter unlock code into modem.
