Can you roll it back? Now it won't work on my dell. Found the driver after a while but it won't work with my Bigpond software or my dell software.

Well better put this up and hope someone see's it before downloading the file:
        DONT DOWNLOAD THIS!
        DONT DOWNLOAD THIS!
        DONT DOWNLOAD THIS!

It works but for some it will screw up your card, I'm in Australia and it wrecked mine. I found a driver that works, and now I use another companies connection manager to use the device because my ISP's connection manager doesn't recognise the devise.

I'll try what I use and you can see if it helps you. It took me days to find the right software and driver.

If you already had a generic model you should be OK, but if its branded, run. And if your not sure don't tempt it, it's non reversible.

                  Thank you!
I tried everything but it appears that the modem is dead. It is recognized by the drivers and appears as a device but does not respond.

My modem wasn't recognised by the original software. I live in Australia and had to use 3's Mobilink software, and manually configure a connection profile. If you need it I'll try find it, it wasn't easy to find either .

Mind you the reason I was trying to update the firmware was because of an error, it went away but came back a month later, I f**ked the modem off and got an external usb modem that's a lot better anyway.

You could share your information here. Then it will be easier to find and to configure for other people.

Not sure what you mean, that is all the information I have. I was grasping at straws to fix the issue I had, found this thread via google and tried it out. It caused more issues than it solved for me as well as the other guy I've been replying to and trying to help. I'm trying to be helpful, I don't know the community on the forum so any advise could have come across negative.

There should be enough information in the previous posts to advise doing any upgrades could be detrimental to those who are not using the device in it's generic state (non branded cards). [I thought I better right that just in case someone didn't realise this after reading the thread]

                              Update

For all those in a similar situation, here's what I've found (because sharing findings is the nice thing to do)

I have this wireless card and decided to take the plunge and install the firmware from the initial post on this page, since my card is unbranded and unlocked.
I encountered the exact same issue - the Dell utility wouldn't detect the card.

I installed Mobilink Lite, and it detected the card and I was able to connect.

But, I preferred the Dell utility, so I tried to install the firmware from the Dell website and it succeeded, but the Dell application still could not detect the device.

Mobilink Lite still works, and can be found here

                              Good luck!
