  • mifi 2372 not working withTelus/Bell

I have a 2372. With the AT&T firmware when I put my Telus SIM in it would pick up Telus' network but show as roaming and I could not seem to connect it and get data going. I flashed it with generic firmware and now with my Telus Sim, it does not seem to pick up a Telus at all. It just seems to find the Rogers network. I also tried with a Bell Sim card and same thing. Just wants to find Rogers, not Bell. Does this make sense to anyone?

I bought the mifi unlocked on Ebay. The Telus sum is normally active in a iPhone and the Bell Sim is active on a prepaid tablet plan. I have tried swapping these Sims between those devices and they work fine, but neither wants to work properly in the mifi....

Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

This question seems related to mine so I'm going to bump it. My Dad bought an AT&T Novatel 2372 Mifi unlocked on eBay. I tested it with my PC Mobile (MVNO of Bell Canada) SIM card.

I put in all the APN settings and inserted the SIM, but it seemed to think I was roaming. The only way I could force it to connect automatically was to enable auto connection when roaming. This made it work, but it would be dangerously costly near national borders.

Any ideas why it might erroneously show as roaming? Would it be helpful if he flashed a different firmware instead, such as Bell?

Mine is with the Bell SIM, though I didn't do anything.it only works if roaming is on like the previous poster. If anyone knows a way around this, let us know.
