  • Trying to use prepaid sim in 2372

OK, after reading around on the internet I got an unlocked MiFi 2372 from Amazon. Got an ATT gophone SIM and added data, it works in an unlocked iphone so I know the SIM is good, but I cannot get it to work in the MiFi.

    Any help appreciated!

PS---How do I tell if it is truly unlocked??

Did you unlock this modem with DC-Unlocker?
Can you give more information about what exactly is wrong and not working?

I bought it from Amazon and it is supposed to be unlocked already but I don't know how to verify that it is. As for details, well, when I put a gophone sim in it that has a data plan activated, I cannot get Internet access. I can connect to the Mifi via wifi and get to the landing page but no Internet access. Honestly I don't know squat about the Mifi but had read that a gophone sim would work. I can't get it to.

Does it even see network signal?
If yes, then you need to find and enter correct connection settings, like APN, login, password, etc.

I guess that is part of the problem, I don't really know what I am doing as far as those settings. All my reading said that folks were putting the AT&T gophone sim card in and it just worked.

Any help with set up would be appreciated.

Connect modem to computer, wait till it fully loads.
Open your browser, enter this address http://192.168.1.1 or http://MiFi
Then find settings (I am not sure how are they named in this device) and connection settings. You should be able to add profiles, edit profiles, etc.
Create new profile or edit existing, enter the correct APN, login, password and other settings, then try to connect.
You should know these settings by contacting your SIM card service provider.
