  • Novatel 2372 driver for Windows 7?

I just can't get DC Unlocker to recognize my device when plugged in via USB. I'm trying to use the generic firmware but can't do so unless I can get the appropriate driver for Windows 7.

    Maybe it's not possible, I don't know.

Any help would be seriously appreciated.

If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the connection software for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version.

      Thanks for the tips!

I am using this driver on Windows 7 64 bit:

      NvtlDriverEthernet_V2.03.06.009

I am using auto detect in DC Unlocker

I am using DC Unlocker 1.00.0913

The modem is not connected to the internet, but how do I know if the modem connection software is closed or not?

      Thanks again!

From task manager. Maybe any processes related to modem are running there.

Checked the task manager while the modem was plugged in. I didn't see anything there. Any hope? I'm about to return this unit.

Check in Task Manager > Processes tab. Maybe there is a process running.

Write what do you see in Modems and Ports sections in Device Manager, maybe you could try to manually set the ports for DC-Unlocker to detect modem.

Please write what do you see in Device Manager in Ports and Modems sections.
(Right click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager. Open "Modems" and "Ports" sections).

Again, I'm using Windows 7 64 bit, not XP.

Under Device Manager, I see under 'Modems':

                  Agere Systems HDA Modem

And nothing else. There is no 'Ports' section under Device Manager.

Could you try other computer with xp or windows 7 (not 64 bit)?
You need to see modem under modems and ports sections of device manager.

The only other computer I have is also Windows 7 64 bit. Same results there.

Then it might be drivers problems - seems not all drivers install, because ports does not appear.

Just tried two different units on a Windows XP PC and a Windows 7 32bit PC. Nothing worked. I feel like I must be doing something wrong, but I just can't figure it out.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It's funny how I've actually already tried that too. Didn't work. What did work was using the micro USB cable that came with the 2372. (Face palm)

Of course, I thought I would just use a micro USB cable that was lying around instead. Mistake.

Everything played nicely with the supplied cable.
