  • T-Mobile USB Stick 530 - problem with registering

    Hi there
I have unlocked by dc unocker T-Mobile USB Stick 530 ( ICon 431) and What is happening. Led diode is flashing green( GPRS i think ), so it look like it is realy unlocked, but can't register to network( Active Orange Simcard). O2 simcard UK the same situation. But T-mobile Uk it's ok, no problem with register to network. I also checked with Lebara (UK) simcard and its working. So I don't know what's wrong. I was using orginall T-Mobile Connection software, and Globetroter 3.0 from option homesite.

        Phone detected.
Phone Model: Option GIO431 - (PS)
        Firmware serie: GlobeTrotter HSUPA Modem
        Phone IMEI: 3************
        Serial number: **********
        Firmware Version: 1.5.0.0Hd (Date: Oct 22 2008, Time: 10:07:00)
        Simlock status: Disabled : (Network)
        All Done! - Time:00:00:03

Did you unlock this before? Use the DC Unlocker client and check the simlock status.

Yes, I've unlocked it by DC-Unlocker. It showing unlocked, but is very strange like simcard not full incompatible with hardware or Globetrotter incompatible with stick. Anyway with Orange simcard I can make dial-up connection and it work. O2 sim, nothing. With Lebara Sim and T-Mobile I had Network in Globetrotter. I have no idea. Below i gaving you info from dc unlocker:

            DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0293

            Detecting card :

            selection :
            manufacturer - Option
            model - Auto detect

Found modem : GlobeTrotter HSUPA Modem
            Model : iCON 431
            IMEI : 357*********
            Firmware : 1.5.0.0Hd
            Serial NR. : PS2*******
            SIM Lock status : unlocked

With unlocked modem you need to use unbranded conenction software. Unbranded connection software for your modem you can download here: http://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/open/31
enter your provider settings and try to connect.

I have the same problem with this stick.

I tried using the unbranded dashboard but I still get no network. I tried with 2 different sim. the stick in getting the signal tought cause it's blinking blue.

is there a solution for this?

edit: it registers on the network if I use a 32k vodafone sim. It doesn't register if I use a TIM 128 kb sim card.

why is it doing this?shouldn't itwork with every sim card?

Then do it a few times.

I'm using a iCON 431 (also a T-Mobile 530 from T-Mobile UK) here in Germany and never had any problems.

Try also the newest Dashboard from here: http://www.option.com/en/support/sof...odems/icon431/

mistery solved. It was because I had no money on the sim. Never happened before with other usb modems tought. I mean I obviously couldn't connect, but I could register on netowrk.

It didn't make any sense cause the modem was blinking blue,so it meant it registered on umts. Even if I tried to select the network manually I got that the modem was currently on TIM.

And then again TIM and Vodafone both have umts on 2100 mhz.

anyway I0m glad that it's solved.
