I am getting error code 21 when trying to unlock the card

Try some older version of dc-unlocker. It's helps to me...

You should check, if the modems connection software is not running, check if correct drievers are installed, try updating the drivers.

I tried all version back to 0217 but I receive either

error 21
error 45
or access violation in the client.

The card is a t-mobile card and the connection software is not running.
I can try if it is possible to update the drivers. Can I use the dc-unlocker provided drivers?

Does the sim card need to be in te modem or not?

Ok, could you try updating the drivers? Yes, use drievrs from dc unlocker folder.
Could you try unlocking on other computer? Could you check in task manager if no processes related to modem is running?

have updated the drivers, no change in behavour.
There is no connection software running only the gtdetect and gtflashSwitch
processes. I also tried updating after terminating these processes.
Unfortunately I cannot try it on another computer since I have only one with a pci express slot.

Could you try to close these processes: gtdetect and gtflashSwitch? Then try unlocking.

Could you check, if there is a sim card inserted? If it is there, try unlocking without sim inserted.
