  • Sierra wireless 320U not found

    Hi,
I have the Sierra Wireless 320U but it is not detected from the DC-unlocker client.

    The message I get is:

    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0949

    Detecting card :

    selection :
    manufacturer - SierraWireless
    model - Auto detect (recommended)

    modem not found !

The modem is just plugged but not connected, and it works OK when connecting with Telstra network

Comm ports used from Device manager are:
Sierra Wireless AT Command Port (COM9)
    Sierra Wireless CNS Port (COM8)
    Sierra Wireless DM Port (COM10)

    Thanks in advance!

Can you also write what do you see in "Modems" section in Device Manager?
If you see your modem there, then right click on it > Properties > Modem.
Find what COM port it uses and write it here.

Also Cant get 320U to be detected

HI - I am using COM 23 for this modem (Sierra Wireless Aircard 320U)
I have tried searching by Sierra and all models and by Sierra 320U
I have also tried to use the COM 23 port to no avail.
Have tried restarting and all other advice offered here, but still no good?
Any other ideas? PLease see below:

Do you see it in ports section also? what number there?
Also, be sure that all drivers and software for modem is installed. Restart computer also after installing modem.

I too have the Telstra branded Sierra Wireless 320U

and DC Unlocker is refusing to detect it.

          Windows 7, 32 Bit.
          Installed, Rebooted, Not found.
Went in to Device Manager, found it on COM6, So i manually set it to COM6, Told it it's looking for a 320U, Still cannot find it.

          See Attached Picture
          Any ideas?

If you can not detect modem, check this:
Make sure all drivers are installed.
Make sure modems connection software is installed, but not running. (if there is one)
Use Autodetect on dc-unlocker “select model” line.
Make sure modem is not connected to internet.

              Tried that,

Are there more modems or phones connected to pc? Could you tell specifically under what lines and how appears your modem in device manager? It should appear under modems and under ports lines.

In the [Modem] Tab is shows Com6.

                  Hardware ID: USB\Vid_0f3d&Pid_68aa&MI_03

Try to detect it while Application port is set to COM6 and Diagnostics port to COM5. The other way around than in the screenshot that you've posted.earlier.

                      Manufacturer SierraWireless
                      Model AirCard 320U
                      Application COM6.
                      Diagnostic COM5.

                      Modem not found.

Could Telstra have put some unusual firmware on it that's stopping it's detection? If so, how could i fix that?

Do you use original drivers (that came with modem) or any others?

I Used the Telstra Branded ones that install when the device is first plugged in.

Is there an alternative to the Telstra ones? if so, where can i get them?
