have new At&t Sierra compass 885, connects to local AIS ISP using AT&T net manager but only 237 kbps GSM. EDGE is available all over Thailand, where I live.
Used Dc-unlocker to get rid of AT&T restriction. All went perfectly to plan and I installed "Sierra Wireless AirCard HSDPA" in Windows Phone and Modem options in XP Pro.
Used "New connection Wizard" to access the net and it goes through the motions of dialing-connecting, then I get...Error 692: There was a hardware failure in the modem (or other connecting device).
Indicator lights are lit on the 885 and it still works perfectly if I go back to AT&T's Tru-install manager.
I am going around in circles now, how can connect the unlocked modem to AIS EDGE and get speeds to stream Youtube?
Have used a borrowed cheap Chinese USB aircard and it accesses EDGE no problem.
Thanks, Terry
