  • Netgear Aircard 778S (Virgin Mobile)

I have very recently bought a Netgear Aircard 778 branded Virgin Mobile and I have succesfully unlocked it using Dc-Unlocker, nevertheless the hostspot is still requesting to perform activation on the network.
Do you know if there's any workaround to skip this activation phase ?

    Thanks

Unfortunately but no, we do not have solution for skipping this process. Check device's web ui if APN settings matches new operators sim that you try to use it with.

I tried to unlock Netgear Mingle Aircard 778S (Virgin Mobile USA), and DC-Unlocker does not find the modem:

      Here's what I did:
      Install the latest DC-Unlocker 2 Client v 1.00.1121
Connect AC 778S to a PC's USB port (I tried Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit) with a Sprint (Virgin Mobile USA) sim inserted in the router -> Windows automatically install driver.
      * I actually tried with a T-mobile US SIM inserted, too.
Run Driver Setup.exe from AC 778S.
Select manufacturer : SierraWireless/Netgear, Select model: Auto detect

      DC-Unlockers says
      ---------------------
      DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1121
      Detecting modem :
      selection :
      manufacturer - SierraWireless/NETGEAR
      model - Auto detect (recommended)

      modem not found !
      -------------------

Any tips to detect the modem?

Please, open device manager window and let us know where your AC 778S appears there. We will try to help you to detect it manually. In device manager you should check such lines as "Drives/CDROMS", "Modems", "Ports", "Network adapters".

Ok, a little bit of progress here:

I didn't have access to Aircard 778S storage (memory) to run the driver setup.exe on my Windows 7 32bit PC. (I think I did at the first time I connected it to PC, but the 778S is not recognized as an external storage now.)
So, I connected AC778S to a Windows 7 64bit PC, copied all files in the driver folder (WIN) to a network drive, switched AC778S to the Windows 7 32bit PC, and run the driver from the network drive.

But, the resulting Device Manager display is still exactly the same as above (for Windows 7 32bit).
