  • Sierra Wireless Aircard 763S Error

First, my bank refunded the money so thank you and sorry for any trouble.

I had spoken to a friend who does have a verified paypal account make the payment and unlock my AC763S giving me this:

    ================================================== =================
    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1154

    Detecting modem :

    selection :
    manufacturer - SierraWireless/NETGEAR
    model - Auto detect (recommended)

    Found Applications port COM14
    Found Diagnostics port COM13

    Found modem : AC763S
    Model : AirCard AC763S
    IMEI : 013080000431731
    Serial NR. : CDX2672186110
    Firmware : SWI9200H2_03.05.11.00AP
    SIM Lock status : unlocked

    ================================================== =================

I placed my SIM card (Zain BH) into the unit, powered up, and keep getting error code 8 (Operator Determined Barring) when it's connecting to 2G and error code 263 (PDP Establish Max Timeout) when trying to connect to the 4G network immediately after. I take that same SIM card and place it into another unlocked AC763S and it works fine leaving me to believe the unit is messed up. I purchased another locked 763S and was hoping if it is possible to get credited back so I can try this again one more time?

Sorry we do not add credits back just because device is damaged. I suggest to check troubleshooting of those errors online, which usually explains where is the problem or reason behind these errors that you get.

Where would you recommend I check? I've been troubleshooting for two days and those error codes are all I can find from the manual. I feel like money is going down the drain at this point.

Try to enter those error names in search engine to check available info about them.

Doing that doesn't give any information at all leaving me running in circles.

For those that run into the same issue as I am, I can report that after playing with this unit for four days now, I finally have it working on the 2G band only. I am on the Zain BH network and all I kept doing was swapping the APN around and rebooting the unit. My 763S decided to "wake up" and respond only to the 2G band but it doesn't always hold the way it should.

Process I followed as per my notes:
WAN Settings was set to Manual with the 2G band only for all my testing so I can work on getting a connection first.

          APN: internet
          No Auth
          Rebooted
Let the 763S scan over and over for an hour.

          changed settings:
          APN: internet
          APN Auth: PAP
          User: internet
          Pass: internet
          Rebooted
Let the 763S scan over and over for an hour.

          changed settings:
          APN: pps
          No Auth
          Rebooted
Let the 763S scan over and over for an hour.

          changed settings:
          APN: pps
          APN Auth: PAP
          User: pps
          Pass: pps
          Rebooted
Let the 763S scan over and over for an hour.

I did this throughout the day for two days before my unit "woke up" and connected to the network. I still cannot connect to the 3G band as when I do my reception bars drop to zero and the 763S loses connection with an error code 263 or 264. There are no forums with an answer for this problem as of this writing and the only answer from the manual is to contact the service provider of the unit which is useless since we are trying to unlock it anyways. I'm going to play some more with it and see if I can get the 3G band to pick up again as I'm tired of wasting money and thankfully I was able to return the newly purchased card since I refuse to pay another 10 euros (nothing personal against the staff, I just don't want to waste any more money).

Hopefully this can help someone fix their Aircard 763S (Bell Version) or find an answer should they run into this problem like I have.

If your device came from abroad (which it looks like from information that you gave), then problem might be in bands that it supports, might be not compatible with all local ones.

The Roger's version of the AC763S offers different bands over the Bell or is it possible the unit didn't unlock right? I'm just throwing thoughts that come to mind as other guys with me have no issues that use the Roger unit. I might be the only one with the Bell version so I cannot make that assumption w/o finding another Bell unit to cross reference.
