  • Sierra Wireless MC8755 Error 37

    Hi.

I am trying to unlock a Vodafone MC8755 (Lenovo OEM on a ThinkPad T60p) and I keep getting an AT Command Error 37.

    I have tried:
    Radio ON
Radio OFF (all wwan software closed)
    No SIM card
Blocked SIM card inserted (gives an error to remove card)
Different versions of DC Unlocker in both Windows 7 64 bit (including the latest) and XP 32 bit (latest 3 or 4 versions crash on XP)
    Moving card to another T60

I can communicate fine with the card via hyperterminal and send AT commands like ATZ, ATI, etc

    Any help?
    Regards

EDIT: Firmware version is U1_2_45MCAP and SIM lock status is Locked (PH-NET PIN)

Please expand modems section in device manager and check if your unit appears there as well, if it does, right click on it, select properties, then modems tab, make screenshot of it and send here please.

Curiously enough, I have another locked MC8755 (don't know the network, Lenovo OEM as well and older 2.36 firmware) and the same exact problem happens in either of my T60's.

Okay when detecting device, try to select model manually, set application com port to COM8, diagnostics to COM7, see if it detects your unit, if it does try to unlock, please let us know. If it's still same problem or doesn't detect then provide your user name.

Unfortunately, it will not detect the modem. I can send AT commands to COM8 and it will respond correctly.

My username is the same as the forum, lm922.

I have tried to do a clean install of Windows 7 x64, no drivers or applications installed whatsoever except for the modem drivers from the Lenovo site. Unfortunately I can't try to unlock as DC unlocker reports no credits on this install

Edit: Nevermind, I was using the wrong card, my credits were binded to a single imei the last time I tried an unlock and I've been switching between two different cards (only buying more credits after I manage to unlock at least one!). The issue persists even with a fresh install of Windows.

                    Please do this:

                    1. Restart DC-Unlocker software.
                    2. Go to Server tab, login (Must press “check log in” before continuing)
                    3. Detect your device. Try to unlock, after error do rest of the steps
                    4. Go to Options tab.
                    5. Click "Save log".
                    6. Send that file to me, please.

By the way, if it helps I sniffed the COM port to try and figure out what is going on:

                        AT&F
                         OK
                        ATE0
                         OK
                        AT+CGSN
Modem replies with number (probably serial nš)
                        AT+CPIN?
                         Modem replies with ERROR
                        AT!OPENLOCK?
                         Modem returns a number
                         OK
                        AT!OPENMEP?
                         Returns a different number
                         OK
                        AT!OPENMEP="the last number"
                         ERROR

and then DC fails. I have tried sending the same types of commands via hyperterminal with the same exact results, apart from generating different mep and openlock numbers. The same happens if I try these AT commands in a different T60, with a different card

                        Regards

Please try to detect/unlock on this dc-unlocker version https://get-file.org/get/d76992f280e...3148cda1d1c3e7 see if error is same.

                            Thank you! It worked!

Would this version work on my other card (assuming I buy more credits), or did you customize it for this specific one using the logs?

It should work on the other one as well, assuming problem was the same.
