How do you Unlock a MC8790 3G module from a Netcomm BigPond 3G9WB router?
I tried putting it in a Sierra wireless 880U usb body, it gets 'This device as malfunctioned' error, I have the Sierra 3G watcher installed, tried the drivers from sierra & dc-unlocker folder, did the same in my HP laptop, malfunctioned!

I put it in a mini pci-e slot in my laptop, doesn't get seen at all.

    Any ideas?

    Unlocked

I put it in another mini pci-e slot, windows detected it & installed the drivers for it, Sierra 3G watcher reported no sim. no sim reader installed!
Dc-unlocker detected it, unlocked & voice enabled(won't do much in a router!).

I did this the other day with a BigPond 3G9WB, put it in a laptop mini-pcie slot and unlocked it using DC-Unlocker. Interesting to note that some of the 3G9WB modem routers come with Sierra MC8780 AirCards not the 90's which must be later models supporting the HSUPA protocol for faster upload.
