The thing I do not understand is that I only tried to unlock it once before I received this error message. I have tried twice since then, but get the same result.

Could you try to use latest version from web page? Now you are using veryyyy old.

Yeah, shortly after posting, I realised that might be the problem. Stupidly, I thought the realease versions were applicable to specific models, so searched and found the one that initially inlcuded the Sierra USB301. I've updated to the most recent one and discovered it had already been unlocked, without even trying again. I've tested it with a different SIM and it works fine. Cheers!
