Could you please explain whether Sierra Wireless MC8792V modem is supported for unlock. DC-unlocker detects the correct COM ports for modem but then writes "modem not found'. Maybe it's necessary to select some specific older modem model for the program to detect the modem?

No, this model is not supported. Could you detect it by dc-unlocker and copy here what is detected?
If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the connection software for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version.
