  • Sierra Wireless Aircard 875 not detected

    Hi there,

I have downloaded DC-Unlocker and purchased 15 credits as advised, I plug the card in and run DC-Unlocker and get this message,

    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0309

    Detecting card :

    selection :
    manufacturer - SierraWireless
    model - Auto detect

    card not found !

I have uninstalled the drivers, re-installed, removed the sierra wireless watcher, tried earlier versions of this software, is there anything I can do.

    Thanks Mark

    not detected again

I have tried it on another laptop with no luck, you can change the com settings on any of the others, except my card, still stuck!!

Did you close the modems connection software before detecting modem? Use autodetect function. Select your manufacturer and model leave autodetect.

Yes I did, and it shows in the device manager and also is working when I do a diagnostics on the modem. I will keep trying, anyway, thanks

You should leave sieera watcher and do not uninstall it, just close it before detecting. Try to use drivers from dc-unlocker folder (from folder where you have installed dc-unlocker). Maybe you have other modem connected at the same time? If so, try to disconenct it and detect.

            Hi there,
I have tried this and also tried to use the drivers from the DC Unlocker folder however the device then has an exclaimation mark and still is not detected even after a restart. I will keep trying though, thanks.

Does original software find the modem? Could you try other computer?

When you say software, do you mean the watcher software, I have tried it on another computer but it still doesn't detect the card using DC Unlocker, The modem works on both computers, I have tried disabling the wireless card and other modem however still no joy, still trying.
                Thanks

I have still got issues with DC unocker, well I have tried it on two other laptops, used the drivers supplied with the DC unlocker software however it still is not detecting the card, I have tried it with/without/and anonther provider sim, however still no joy, and it just comes up with a MEP unlock code box. Don't know what to do, is it because it has the latest firmware!

                  Thanks

Do you see the modem in device manager in modems in ports sections? Do you close sierra watcher software (conenction software) before detecting modem? Check, if you close it and all its processes in task manager.

Yes, the modem is showing in the device manager, and under modems, also I have stopped the sierra wireless watcher the device manager shows the modem, and so does the modems in the control panel. The modem light showing it's on is off, so does this have to be on, as it appears to only be on when the watcher is activated and it locates the modem. I have tried what I feel is everything. But i will keep trying.
                      Thanks Mark

Do you see it in ports section too in device manager or only in modems? Connect modem, start sierra watcher software, wait till it finds the modem, then close it and try to detect.

Thanks for replying, I have looks in the ports section of the device manager and it states

Sierra Wireless Command AT Port (UMTS) (COM3)
Sierra Wireless CNS Port (UMTS) (COM5)
Sierra Wireless Data Port (UMTS) (COM7)
Sierra Wireless DM Port (UMTS) (COM4)

                          Under the Modems it states:-

Sierra Wireless AirCard 875 HSDPA Modem
                          Sierra Wireless Aircard HSDPA Modem

                          Under Network adapters it states:-

Sierra Wireless HSDPA Network Adapter #2

                          Under USB Controllers it states:-

                          Sierra Wireless AC875 Device

I have tried what you advised and it still doesn't detect the modem.
I hope the above helps, thanks Mark

I have another data card modem, a Merlin U630, it detects that straight away without any problems, so it can't be the laptop, or the software, would the firmware do this, thanks, mark

If you still are not able to detect the modem, write me a private message with your username and we will do a refund. Or you can spend credits unlocking other modem.
Normally there are no problems with detecting sierra modems. But this time I do not know what may be wrong more.
