  • Can't detect XSStick®W14

I'm not able to detect it with dcunloacker

    I get a "card not found !"

    What shall I do?

If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the connection for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version.

      WM71 "Card Not Found"

Neither can I unlock my branded (Mobily) WM71. I tried with DC-Unlocker client v.1.00.0416 (which worked successfully with my ZTE MF628), and got the dreaded "Card Not Found" message. ALL MODEM DRIVERS INSTALLED CORRECTLY. I have Mobily service (which, with 1 bar, drops off every 10 minutes), so am trying to unbrand in order to use a Saudi Telecom service (STC) which is marginally better in my area (as I use STC for my cellphone service).

I've downloaded and installed the latest DC-Unlocker client v.1.00.0436 (a very painful process with my adjacent dial-up that I will lose in a few days - hence my urgency). Oddly enough, since the WM71 was added to DC-Unlocker v.1.00.0388, I feel that the .0416 version should have been sufficient. Still the same thing. I’ve tried Auto Detect, as well as the specific model. Any option yields the same “Card Not Found”. I've even played around with the different combinations of Application and Diagnostic Com ports with no success.

I was very pleased with the service during my first experience, and am looking forward to buying more credits once I am sure the WM71 can be read.

If anyone has any answers or suggestions, I'm all ears...

      Thanks, Ricknsaudi

Yes! I've done ALL the things you've recommended. What am I missing? This is actually an urgent plea due to my living in a third-world infrastructure.

What can I do to unlock my WM71? It simply won't read with the "invalid" card in the device and it initialized only (NOT ONLINE OR LOGGED IN - Really hard to do with an invalid card). Modem drivers installed correctly because branded card works well (even only 1 bar).

Auto-detect, or manual detect..."card not found". DC-unlocker recognizes user login (with no credits - Yet!). Latest software version. Everything! Could I try with a "valid" card? Do you think it might work by trying different com ports? I'm really open for any suggenstions. Have you guys had similar complaints?

Is your technical team having problems with this model that might prevent device recognition?

What about the connection software for this modem? Is it closed? It is not enough only to disconnect in software, you need to close it.
Maybe other modem is conencted to computer at same time? If yes, then remove other modem and try detecting again.
              Try detecting on other computer.

                Vincenzo,

Your suggestions have gotten me a step closer, but still not finding the modem. What I’ve done is:
                * Inserted “Illegal” sim into modem (as was required with the ZTE).
                * Initialized modem with it’s software, then shutdown connection manager - leaving the “removable disk” in the computer.
                * Started dial-up modem and connected (others may have the luxury of DSL or Wi-Fi).
                * Started DC-Unlocker (latest version) and selected Longcheer. Clicked with “Auto-detect”....
                * This time I do not get the “card not found”, but it goes into “Auto-detect” mode and stays there. (The computer does not lock up, simply a perpetual search mode with no progress bar action.)
                * Clicked the “Stop” icon, stops responding, and have to shut off with task manager. (WinXP).
                * Re-start DC-Unlocker. Select Longcheer - WM71. An immediate “card not found”.
                * Shut down DC-Unlocker (it shut down normally), remove USB hardware icon (while leaving device plugged in, re-start DC-Unlocker, Auto-Detect, stuck in search mode again. Shut down with task manager.
                * Tried Longcheer WM-71. Immediate “card not found”. Shut down DC-Unlocker normally.
                * Tried with “LEGAL” sim and all combinations mentioned above....SAME THING!
                * Tried with NO sim and all combinations mentioned above...SAME THING!

Mr. V., I’ve about reached the end of my options. I will be purchasing 10 credits in a few minutes in anticipation of success (just in case the Auto-detect interfaces with your servers, and the purchasing power must be in place), and run through the whole schmere again. I hope this feedback helps you to diagnose my problem. Failing that, I will try it all again on a friends’ computer in a few days.

Thank you for the forum, Ricknsaudi

Could you check again the modem drivers? Do you see modem in device manager? In what device manager section you see modem? Other thing, be sure the connection software is not running in background (no icon near the clock).

Si, Senior. Mobile Connector in "Modems" category of device manager and connection manager completely off (no icon near clock). DC-Unlocker goes into Auto-detect and stops responding. At least there is no "card not found" message. Thx

According to the log information you send us, there are no devices in ports section. something is worng with drivers or drivers are not fully installed. Sent you private message. Could you check it?
