      Yes, I know. Just answering your question. There are routers that operates via software when you connect it by usb also.

        ZTE MF28G Branded by 3 in Sweden

        I can not detect my modem by using an usb cabel. And i do not see any cdrom device made by my router/modem in the device manager. So it seems like that 3 in sweden have made their own firmware that make in impossible to talk with the modem via usb. But it must be drivers for the modem out there somwhere, i mean the modem must be used somwhere else with zte orginal firmwere so it can be found by the computer. So the drivers must exist somewhere. Have anyone in Sweden with this modem from 3 managed to succesfully unlock it ? I think not.

          CDROM should appear in My Computer/Computer area, not in device manager.

            I meet the same problem ,
            I can not connect the router , it need very specify usb cable, USB type-A to type A.
            I finally open the router body case, find there is a minipcie module, I plug the minipcie module into minipcie to usb adapter , find new zte lte hardware ,but no driver to download,
