  • ZTE WebPocket 21.6 no more battery status/animation when off

    Hello,
since I was curious about unlocking my ZTE WebPocket 21.6 I installed DC - Unlocker client 1.00.1024 and did a scan using "ZTE modems" manufacturer and "Auto detect (recommended)" in Select model listbox.
I had inside it an USIM from the correct operator "H3G Italy".
After doing the first scan the device was recognized and shown in the log (which I not saved).

The next time I connected it, however, device was no more recognized nor by my PC nor by the unlocker.
Moreover in the device small display the status of the battery is no more displayed and when connecting it powered off it doesn't show the battery charging animation anymore, instead it boots up as if I pushed the power on button.

I repeat that I didn't try to unlock it but only did a scan.
How can I fix the problem?

I append the log made with a not permitted operator SIM inserted:

For correct ZTE modem detection, please plug modem with invalid operator SIM inserted. Wait till software starts the modem, close ZTE software and then you can detect modem with DC-Unlocker.

    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1024

    Detecting modem :

    selection :
    manufacturer - ZTE modems
    model - Auto detect (recommended)

    modem not found !

    ================================================== =================
The same log appears with permitted operator sim.

The post you suggested me helped me understand the problem.
However I didn't install the drivers when the device was functioning properly and now I don't have any way to submit the AT commands to the device.
Does somebody have a link to download the drivers or can provide them?
        Thanks anyway

Also I don't have any CD-ROM drive related to the key (however before running DC-unlocker I had the fake CD-ROM drive with the drivers inside).

              Solved

              Hi Valdemaras and Vincentas,
I managed to solve the issue.

If you like I would provide the solution to help building a knowledge base.

After simply connecting ZTE MF60 to PC and scanning it with DC-Unlocker devide went into diagnostic mode (?) and lost status battery info and charging mode when powered off.

To put again the device in the normal mode you have to have installed the drivers.
If you don't have them download the ones from a UK provider:
              ftp://ftp.brightpointuk.co.uk/Technical%20Support/ZTE/MF60/ZTE_MF60_Windows.zip

After you installed the drivers your device will be recognized by Windows (I was connected to the Internet while the driver installing process was going on).

Then open DC-Unlocker as administrator, select "ZTE modems" manufacturer and "Autodetect" as model and press the "Detect modem" button.

Under detected device information (the white text box in which you can see the log) paste this: AT+ZCDRUN=F and press enter.

After this you will see the message
exit download mode nv result(0:FAIL 1:SUCCESS):1
              OK
Now you can power off the device and when you will power it on it will function properly again.

              Credits:
Step-by-step on unlocking ZTE MF60 This is the only REAL successful unlock MF60 Comviq unlock available yet to date.

So we can understand that the only scanning by DC-Unlocker puts the MF60 in diagnostic mode?

Maybe you have clicked Enable diagnostic port in Unlocking tab earlier on the program? In that case your device was put into diagnostic mode.

Yes, it was my mistake, apologies. Scanning have put your device into diagnostic mode. You could have disabled this by only detecting it with dc-unlocker, then opening Unlocking tab and click on Disable Diagnostic port button.

Ok, thank you for your support anyway.
Maybe it's better that you put some warning info in your utility.

                      Best regards.
