  • Guide: Unlocking MF190

After reading and searching several posts, I almost tore my hair apart but then I decided to contact online chat support which helped me through this which I wanted to share incase others are stuck where I was.

Problem was that dc-unlocker couldnt find the modem (which was because I didnt know how to swap from modem mode to diagnostic mode)
Anyways, here goes and remember doing this is on your own risk. This worked for me but might not work for you if its a newer firmware or any other changes so I take no resposibility if you break your device..

Start with plugging your modem (with a simcard from another operator) into the computer and let it install and after a while a webwindow should open with the modem startpage telling you to enter pincode (if any) or just say that you need to enter unlock code to use (simlock). Take a note of the site adress which in my case was "http://comviq.home".

Now you just type a "/" after "home" and type "mode_switch.asp" and the adress should look like "http://comviq.home/mode_switch.asp" (obvisually comviq is the operator for me but if you have another one then you type that one instead)

After that select "download mode" and apply, modem will now reboot and computer will detect new hardware, you will need to install drivers and you can try https://files.dc-unlocker.com/backen...C83C6FE9621A63 which worked for me. After drivers are installed you should fire up dc-unlocker and select "ZTE modems" and "Auto detect" and press the magnify glass/search button and it should detect modem. After that just make sure you have enough credits (7 needed for this) and try unlocking it. If successful you can now press the "Disable diagnostic port" and modem will reboot (some error might popup with wrong syntax but nothing to worry about)

Now you should be able to use any simcard youŽd like, just make sure your apn settings etc are correct for whichever operator you choose.

Many thanks to the dc unlocker folks!
