  • Cannot get USB to work after unlocking

Hi, I unlocked my Telstra USB MF626i and have a amaysim sim card with 1GB of credit on it, but nothing happens when I plug in, it's like it doesn't recognize or even know that it's there. Have tried it in my Laptop and PC and cannot get it to work.
Does anyone have any clues, it still opens the Telstra account manager as well, uninstalled that on the laptop but made no difference.

Try to use your modem with Join Air, unbranded connection software. Check if modem has its drivers installed - should be visible in device manager window under Modems and Ports lines, if you see in device manager "?" or "!" signs next to lines that belongs to modem then it means it misses drivers.

Done what you told me, but it did not work. It comes up no device or device not ready to work. the laptop only see's the usb modem as telstra, and even though the telstra sim card is removed, and it's softwear removed from the computer, the modem still wants to install the telstra connection manager all the time. it's as if it doesn't know it's unlocked. Drivers appear to be good.

Are you able to still detected your modem on dc-unlocker? Have you tried to eject modems cdrom/drive from computer area, maybe this would help in your situation. If you can detect it on dc-unlocker, then go to unlocking tab and click disable diagnostics port. Restart modem and check again. Make sure you install correct drivers for modem, not the ones that windows automatically updates.

          Still trying

Right I ran the program again
For correct ZTE modem detection, please plug modem with invalid operator SIM inserted. Wait till software starts the modem, close ZTE software and then you can detect modem with DC-Unlocker.

          DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1074

          Detecting modem :

          selection :
          manufacturer - ZTE modems
          model - Auto detect (recommended)

          Found Applications port COM4
          Found Diagnostics port COM5

          Found modem : MF626I
          Model : ZTE MF626i
          IMEI : 351891044799143
          Firmware : T03
          Compile date / time : Apr 13 2010 11:52:22
          Chipset : Qualcomm MSM6290
          Voice feature : unknown(read failed)
          SIM Lock status : unlocked

          ================================================== =================

Then I disabled the diagnostic tool and it said this

Disabling ZTE diagnostic port ... OK

          Restarting modem ...

error - invalid hex string !

What do you mean by eject modems cdrom/drive from computer area, I don't understand.
I have uninstalled the Telstra software but it wants to install it every time I plug in the modem.
Sometimes the modem light is red and sometimes it's green but still there is no connection.

          Driver I found 2 installed
          windows\system32\drivers/UMDF\WpdFs.dll, and
          Windows\system32\drivers\UMDF\WUDFRd.sys
and when I clicked on update drivers it said windows has determined that your drivers are up to date.

Under General in properties It says the device is working properly.
          Any help would be appreciated.
          Thanks
          Marilyn

I mean that if you have uninstalled software of modem from pc, modems drive should be visible in computer area where all other drives/cdroms appears when you connect/insert them into pc.
