  • modem not found !

    Thankyou very much for that - I can now login.
    What I did wrong was I was thinking the user name and password was that of my ZTE MF30 modem - admin - admin - so had entered that many times - which is what locked me out.

    I now have a further problem.
    Yesterday when I could not login to my account, I was still able to detect my modem with DC-Unlocker.
    Now I cannot detect the same modem.

    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1084
    Detecting modem :
    selection :
    manufacturer - ZTE modems
    model - Auto detect (recommended)
    Found Applications port COM1
    Found Diagnostics port COM1
    modem not found !

    I don't believe I am doing anything differently to yesterday.
    Have rebooted the pc, restarted the app, restarted the modem, had the modem connected and not connected - have even tried 2 PC's one being windows 8 and one windows 7.
    What am I doing wrong this time?

    Please check if you still can see device under modems and ports lines in device manager, try to detect it while you are not logged in.

      Modem still not found

      Sorry for the delay in getting back to this.

      I have checked device manager.
      It sees the modem but it is unknown.
      As this is a wireless modem then it doesn't need to be installed on the pc?

      I have tried DC unlocker while logged into and logged out of the modem.
      It still says modem not found.

      Any further suggestions?

      Thankyou

        Your modem is not installed on computer therefore you can not detect it, there can not be any "!" marks in device manager next to your device lines. Try to install MF60 drivers for your device - https://www.dc-unlocker.com/file-lis...ms_and_Routers then check detect again.

          Thankyou for the response.
          I have tried both drivers that your link eventually directed to me to and neither have installed the device on this pc.
          As I said, I don't think device expects to be installed on the pc - it's a wireless modem - so connects wirelessly.
          This is what the ZTE website says;
          "This device is NOT a tethered modem. There are no modem drivers available for this product."
          So while I want to unlock this modem, it seems to me that unless I get a code from Telstra (Australian) there is no way I can unlock this modem

            This device must be installed on pc otherwise it won't be detected. Usually after connecting device via usb cable to pc it installs its drivers automatically otherwise it should have drive/cdrom visible from where installation should be done manually.

              Error code 19

              Thankyou again.
              I have progressed and dc unlocker can now see my modem with it plugged in by usb, but turned off.
              Device manager now looks like attached screen shot.
              And I get this confirmation from dc unlocker;

              DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1084
              Detecting modem :
              selection :
              manufacturer - ZTE modems
              model - Auto detect (recommended)
              Found Applications port COM6
              Found Diagnostics port COM7
              modem not found !

              I then turned the modem on, still with usb connected, but wireless not connected, and get this message;

              For correct ZTE modem detection, please plug modem with invalid operator SIM inserted. Wait till software starts the modem, close ZTE software and then you can detect modem with DC-Unlocker.
              DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1084
              Detecting modem :
              selection :
              manufacturer - ZTE modems
              model - Auto detect (recommended)
              Found Applications port COM6
              Found Diagnostics port COM7

              However when I try to unlock I get this message;

              Unlocking, please wait ...
              unknown error
              Error code 19
              unlock failed !

              Tried closing dc unlocker and reopening and still the same error code 19.

              With the modem still usb plugged in, I then also connected to the modem wirelessly but same error code 19.

              I then left it connected wirelessly and disconnected the usb cable.
              I was then back to the modem not found error message.

              I tried enabling the diagnostic port but then just got an error 24.

              Can you please provide further suggestions.

              My modem is a ZTE MF-30 and it is locked to Telstra Australia

                You must connect it via usb cable not wireless to pc also device must be turned on during detect/unlock. According to the screenshot that you provided try to detect it manually by selecting model from the list on our software ,then enter diagnostics port COM7 and Application COM8 see if device gets detected on software only then unlock will work.

                  I give up - are Telstra ZTE modems with 16 digit unlock codes not supported?

                  I have tried every combination you suggested and error code 19 is always the result. I have downloaded and tried many different versions of this software. I have run this is XP mode and As Administrator. I have 2 of these Telstra ZTE MF-30 wireless modems and I get the same result with both.

                  I have read elsewhere in this forum;
                  "There is no [public] algorithm to compute 16-digit unlock code from IMEI"
                  "Sorry, telstra version not supported as it can not be detected by dc-unlocker.
                  No, can not generate unlock code by imei for zte modems."

                  I can only presume I have been wasting my time trying to use DC Unlocker to unlock these locked Telstra modems.

                  Farewell from me. Moving on to more productive pursuits.

                    If you have user account or if you are a dongle user we would be able to take log file from you to check more closely this situation that you have now, otherwise something seems to be blocking detection of your device, just so you know you must eject cdrom/drive of MF30 if it exists in computer area under other cdroms/drives.

                      The ZTE device shows as a removeable disc under my computer but while it says it ejects it does not.
                      Still getting error code 19.
