Need help MF636 after upgrading firmware from different company
Need help MF636 after upgrading firmware from different company
The original one is from Indosat Indonesia then I upgrade with the Telstra one from Australia. now it doesn't want to run at all. I try to unlock it but it doesn't do it.
So you reflashed with Telstra firmware for the MF636?
I have googled all over for a generic firmware like the Huawei 220 has. No luck for the ZTE MF636.
I have unlocked my ZTE MF636 from Indosat and want to put Telkomsel or a generic version.
What's good unlocking these things if we are locked out of manually searching for other providors? Which Indosat software does. There's no software to pop in another provider...
For the MF636, they are getting to work in Ubuntu with Terminal and the Custom AT commands. Anybody know if we can do this in Windows Vista?

the good thing is you can use the modem with all operators. The Indosat dashboard can be used for telkomsel card or xl card.
The light is always yellow. The dashboard says no sim. I'm thinking that this is because the Telkomsel signal around here is weak.
there is nothing wrong with the signal. The dashboard indicates that there is no signal with the sim card then it means something's wrong with the sim card.
There are 3 posibilities. One is the sim card is defective, the other one is you haven't properly unlocked the modem, and last but not least, the modem is defective.
I suggest you try to use the sim card on the phone and try to establish a connection with it. If it connects then there's nothing wrong with the sim card.
Step 2 is to check the modem with another sim card. If it's working then your problem is not the modem.
I would suspect the problem is the sim card though.
