  • ZTE MF823 from O2 - no connection with other SIMs

    Hi,

I have been able to unlock the ZTE MF823 from O2 with dc-unlocker software. It now shows as unlocked, and luckily I have been able to use the SIM from Three network until first pull out of the USB slot. Once I have removed the modem and inserted it back again, I was not able to use internet again with the SIM card of Three network, but still I can see the light is Blue on the modem itself. I am thinking is this something to do with O2 software which runs and opens(and it still works with O2 sim). As if I insert the modem it opens http://o2.4gdongle/, I can reach the same by: http://192.168.3.1. And once I open it, I can see that it recognizes the card, shows signal strenght and that the SIM is valid, unfortunately shows as Disconnected and once I press Connect, it gets disconnected again. I have tried to input this:
    ---

    ---
Got success, but still cannot use the network. I have tried to put: goform/goform_process?goformId=MODE_SWITCH&switchCmd=FACT ORY, but once again after remove/insert I have got to O2 dongle page. Though in O2 page I can go to APN settings and I can see APN entered as: 3internet, I wanted to modify it to: three.co.uk, but unable to modify anything in there. Is this possible to edit the settings while connected through telnet to: 192.168.3.1? As I am able to connect with: root and zte9x15 password, but not able to find what to modify down there.

    Thank you.

To connect to other provider network you need to enter new provider connection settings - apn, username and others.
If you already entered, be sure that settings are correct.
Also, if you can not edit existing profile, try to create new one.

The problem is, that with O2 web manager, I cannot modify existing or create new profile. It just does not allow it. So wanted to know if it is possible to do this via command line while connected to the modem through telnet? If not, maybe it is possible to revert the modem to it's original firmware, not the one which is modified by O2?

Sorry but we do not have information is settings can be changed via command line. From your explanation it seems that dashboard of your device customized/branded for specific operator in such case you should try to find generic dashboard or firmware of modem, update with it and then it should work with other operator sim cards.
