Hi,
I bought a telstra 4g dongle and I unlocked it using dc unlocker as i wanted to use it on another network. The unlocking appeared to work correctly after installing ZTE drivers for the unit (onto the pc) and putting in an locked carrier sim.
After unlocking, I cannot get the unit to connect to any carrier. The lights on the front indicate that the dongle has registered on the network (any network registers) but the unit won't seem to connect.
I wanted to use the unit in an Asus RT-AC68U. The router recognises the modem and I have the right apn settings but it won't actually connect to the network. Any network for that matter. Replacing the MF823 for my old Huwaei dongle with the same sim connects OK.
I then tried plugging the unit directly into a usb port on a pc but there is no software that is supposed to be on the unit. I downloaded the software and installed all of the telstra bloatware but it just doesn't seem to do anything but light up.
The dc unlocker ZTE drivers are loaded on the pc so it would be using them when directly plugged in. dc unlocker recognises the unit ok and says its unlocked when I put the previouisly locked carrier sim into the dongle.
any ideas? Is there some form of diagnostics I can do?
