Unlocking a new O2 ZTE mf100

Hi There, I've just bought a new O2 dongle with a view to unlock it, load with generic software and then purchase sims abroad.

I downloaded client 1.00.0496 sw and fitted the new unused O2 sim.

on running the S/W it refused to find the card. I've tried starting to install the O2 software but have stopped it before it starts. Where am I going wrong.

well i have unlocked this unit easily .just let o2 software run.then exit it.check you have all the drivers loaded.then run dc unlocker.i have done 2 of these already.i use dcunlocker dongle which does the job of unlocking and reading the dashboard and can write dashboard.you want to update firmware when you have unlocked it .or just leave
o2 connection manager on.you will then have to get APN setting which you can get on the net .

Many Thanks, so I install the O2 software on the pc. then run the unlocker s/w to unlock it. Is this with the O2 sim card still inserted?

Hi There, got one step further on. Have installed O2 control panel. Unlocke now detected card asnd listed imei and firmware numbers. It says that Sim Lock status is unlocked. does this mean that the dongle is unlocked? or just the sim.

What do I do next please.

you can unlock with other sim card when you want to unlock .it is said zte modems prefer another network sim so i did that with mine .i installed with o2 simcard then loaded software with all drivers .then changed sim card.let o2 connection manager run then exit .

before you unlock go to flash options and read dashboard that will make a copy of o2 connection manager.then you unlock.if you update firmware then you will get the join air dashboard .you can then go to settings and enternew profile then enter apn settings if you require apn setting then i can send you them.

if you say modem is unlocked then try any simcard and see if it detects network.
