Well all you techies, I have a laptop which I use when I travel and I have a ZTE 633 TELSTRA which I have to use when I go to Shark Bay. I would like to be able to put anybodys SIM into it and use it. I am not sure if this is possible. At the moment, I plug it in and it self configures and everything is sweet. I assume when I part with some money, how much I do not know, I get the software and unlock my modem. Does this effect the plug and play part of the device?? Please use simple words.
Can I still use it with my Telstra SIM??
I am going to Malaysia and Thailand, who do you suggest as carriers??
    Regards

Unlocking this modem needs 7 credits. 7 credits cost 7 euros. Credits you can buy here: http://www.dc-unlocker.com/buy
How to unlock it by using dc-unlocker you can watch here: http://www.dc-unlocker.com/tutorials
Original software may not work with other provider sim card and you may need to change it.

      how does this work?

OK, so I unlock the modem with DC Unlocker and pay my 7 Euros I used my other SIM while I am in Thailand and when I come home I wish to use my Telstra SIM, I go to the website and update the drivers, does that re-lock my modem?? and do I have to pay every time I change SIM provider??
PS the demo indicated starting the software with an INVALID SIM, is that correct, does that mean the old SIM or the new SIM??
You can now see what the dumb B%^$#@&d stands for LOL

After unlock you can use any provider sim card.
Do not need to update drivers or software. Just need to use unbranded software that work with all provider sim.
Updating drivers or software does not lock your modem back.
Need to detect device with other provider than modem (invalid) sim inserted.

          Well done

Thank you, I appreciate your kind assistance. You need someone who does not know what he is doing to write your procedures. Because you know everything, you do not know what we (the dummies) do not know!! LOL
Anyway, I will part with my cash and lets see how bad I can f$%#K this up.
          Kind Regards

            No internet access

I am a little concerned, as I am not sure this is going to work. I am in Australia with a locked modem but access to the net. I will not have my new data SIM until I get to Thailand and then I will not have access to the internet so how will I unlock my modem to use with the new SIM???
If you think I am just a little stupid, that is fine, but I do need to know that this is going to work before I leave home??
Can I download the unlocking software? it appears as if you need web access and the new SIM to do this??
            Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you need to insert ANY sim card from any provider (but not original one). You can unlock it here and use unlocked modem when you travel with local provider sim, because after unlock device will work with any provider sim.
Yes, you can download the software.
Yes, at unlock time you need to be connected to internet, but not with device you are unlocking. You need to have other connection at unlock time (wifi, lan or other modem).
