Unfortunately, DC-Unlocker Client would not detect this stick. I replaced the original o2 SIM with a non-o2 SIM prior to insertion of stick. Then I typed in the 4digit PIN. I closed Mobile Partner S/W, started DC-Unlocker Client, chose "ZTE modem", I tried both automatic detection and explicit control (MF190, COM8, COM9). Neither would work, I get "unknown error (119)".
I tried several other things like omitting the 4digit PIN. What can I do?

If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the connection software for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version.

Could you write your username and IP address?

"Check, if the drivers are installed"

Drivers for the modem are installed, they are called ZTEusbser6k.sys and
      ZTEusbnmea.sys, Version 1.2059.0.8, Date 09.10.2009.

"Check, if the connection software for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet"

Yes, the "Mobile Partner Manager" that came witht the stick is closed.

"Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version."

Please see my screenshot "dc_fail.JPG" - the stick is perfectly visible to the system (WinXP), but not do DC-Unlock. Again, a non-o2 SIM is inside and activated via 4-digit PIN.

I also included two more screenshots in order to illustrate how the o2 stick works in the first place. "com_connected.JPG" has the stick show up as COM15/16 even though there hasnt even a valid PIN typed in (by the way, a non-o2 SIM inserted). "unlock_dialog.JPG" shows what happens once I activate (4digit PIN) the locked SIM. This stupid dialog comes up and requires 16 digit key to unlock. I dont want that dialog, I dont want that number, I want DC-Unlock to take care of that. But could this menu mean, that there is an additional hurdle installed, which DC-Unlock cannot easily bypass?...

"Could you write your username and IP address? "

I dont understand... Username is "Scratchy" and I dont even know how to detect my IP nor why you would need it, what am I missing here?

Try to check in task manager if connection software is closed for sure.
Check, if no other modems or phones are connected to computer at detect time.
Try to detect on other computer.

"Try to detect on other computer. "

This worked. Win7, no Bluetooth, but I had to install modem drivers manually plus the original software "Mobile Partner Manager" does not function at all on this machine (it is really a crappy laptop..)
          DC-Unlocker gives this readout:

For correct ZTE modem detection, please plug modem with invalid operator SIM inserted. Wait till software starts the modem, close ZTE software and then you can detect modem with DC-Unlocker.

          DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0575

          Detecting card :

          selection :
          manufacturer - ZTE modems
          model - Auto detect (recommended)

          Found modem : MF190
          Model : ZTE MF190
          IMEI : 359728039548790
          Firmware : BD_MF190V1.0.0B02
          Compile date / time : Jul 02 2010 16:30:49
          Chipset : Qualcomm MSM6290
SIM Lock status : Locked (Card Lock)

Looks like I am at Base 1
Now what. I am perfectly prepared to spend 7€ for unlocking, but I have to transfer the aquired credits to some offline folder - I cannot be online during unlocking procedure, because a) the stick I intend to unlock just is my very access to the Internet, it has to be offline due to non-o2 SIM inside and
          b) I have to perform unlocking on this second machine (Win7, no Internet at all, but DC-Unlocker working fine).
Do I hav the oppportunity to buy some sort of voucher? How are the credits stored on my machine, can I transfer them to the other Win7 laptop?

Yes, you can not be online with same device that you are unlocking at unlock time. Need to use other connection, wifi, lan or other modem.
After you buy credits you will receive username and password for usin dc-unlocker. You can enter them in any computer where dc-unlocker is installed.

I used a prepaid bluetooth-via-modem connection. No problems with unlocking the MF190. Thanks for this software, it is good value.
