I am trying to unlock a ZTE MF636 that is connected to the Rogers network in Canada. We do not currently have a plan and thus, it is not currently active. I put it in the usb drive, let the software launch, closed the software and pressed the button for DC-unlocker to find the modem but, it could not find the modem. I noted that the instructions said to place the stick with the unauthorized SIM card in the drive. Does this mean I need to buy a new SIM card before I can unlock the device. I wish to unlock it before I go to Britain where I intend to buy a new SIM card. How do I proceed.

If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the connection software for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version.
Sim can not be new, but from other provider than modem.
