K3571-Z cannot detect modem 1.00.0629

Hi, My 1st post & I'm a newbie however....

I've tried several combinations to try & get unlocker 1.00.0629 to autodetect or by selecting the model listed to find the modem but it doesnt work under all combinations I've tried.

I've followed the instructions stating to plug the modem in with an invalid SIM inserted & waited until software starts the modem close the custom (in my case Vodafone Australia) software & tried to detect the modem with dc-unlocker but it doesnt work.

I've tried getting dc-unlocker to find the modem with the proprietry Vodafone Australia connection app running or disabled/closed in the background.

The ONLY thing I may be doing wrong is with using invalid SIM. I've tried using a prepaid Vodafone SIM (that came with the modem) that's expired & no credit left. I've also tried a working SIM by another provider that uses the Vodafone network & that's active & works with this modem. and I've tried the modem with no SIM inserted. I've tried it with an active SIM on another carrier & therefore barred from being used on this modem.

I've also tried this dc-unlocker on a desktop & a laptop & another laptop all using WinXP Pro with different variations of other NIC's either enabled or disabled (ie internet working from wifi or cat-5 or all other ports disabled & only modem active) but it's all a no go.

I've tried manually configuring the comms ports but that didnt help. And Finally I've tried all combinations of the above.

Can anyone please advise on what I'm doing wrong.

It's now working

Prompted by my own frustration at having to type out the post above & after many clicks on dc-unlocker it found Com12 & diagnostic Com10 & worked.

I was using the expired prepaid SIM & it's SIM Locked status = Unlocked. I tried another carriers SIM & it's status is also unlocked.

I don't understand why as I bought the modem less than 6 months ago & assumed it would be locked

My modem and diagnostic port both are undetectable on my laptop.

i am not able to detect the modem on my laptop both by the ate software and dc-unlocker.
can the modem be detected without simcard? i have tried all things, i have already unlocked it with dc-unlocker. by mistake i enabled the diagnose port. then after disabling the same. i have only once able to detect the modem. after that modem is undetectable. only virtual cdrom is getting detected... can someone tell me what's wrong...? what do i need to do..?
