  • MF627 Diagnostic port not found.

    Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me out. Im having problems getting the diagnostic port to show on my ZTE MF627. When i auto detect i get the error "Diagnostic port not found !" When i go into device manager i can only see 1 device related to the modem "ZTE NMEA Device (COM3)", i assume thats the application port. Ive uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, ive tried manually entering the ports from which i can detect the modem correctly but i receive an error code 36. when i attempt to unlock.
    Cheers,
    Ed.

Please insert the sim card in to the modem (locked sim card),then DC Unlocker will detect the modem.after that you can unlock it without any problem.

For correct ZTE modem detection, please plug modem with invalid operator SIM inserted. Wait till software starts the modem, close ZTE software and then you can detect modem with DC-Unlocker.You should check, if the drivers are installeed and if you see the modem in device manager.

            Avantha.

              With Auto detect i get:

              DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0267

              Detecting card :

              selection :
              manufacturer - ZTE
              model - Auto detect

              Diagnostic port not found !

              With manual i get:

              DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0267

              Detecting card :

              selection :
              manufacturer - ZTE
              model - ZTE MF627
              application port - COM5
              diagnostic port - COM6

              Found modem : MF627
              Model : ZTE MF627
              IMEI : XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
              Firmware : BD_3GHAP673A4V1.0.0B05
SIM Lock status : Locked (Card Lock)

But The Diagnostic port still isnt showing in Device manager, but COM6 shows up in the client after i have inserted the stick. Thats where i think the problem is. (There are no other COM ports available)

COM5 shows as "ZTE NMEA Device (COM5) in device manager.

When i try to unlock with these settings i get:

              Unlocking, please wait ...

              unlock failed !

              (error code 21)

I think problem is ZTE drivers, not the DC Unlocker.did you check the device manager?it should detect com and modem.without that you cannot unlock.

Yep thats what ive been doing. Insert stick with invalid operator SIM card, Software loads, comes up with "this device is Networked locked contact your service provider & it has a prompt to enter the unlock code. I cancel and close the software then attempt to detect in the client. The stick shows up as "ZTE Propriety USB Modem" It passes diagnostics and in ports it shows "ZTE NMEA Device (COM5)"

Here is problem with drivers, please update drivers to generic. You cn get it from not customized manager http://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/open/46 or from dc unlocker installer. To detect you must see diagnostic port in device manager.

I just uninstalled the Three branded drivers & installed the generic ones. I can get the modem to function normally with correct sim but i still cannot get it to detect properly in the client (valid or invalid sim). Nothing changed with the generic drivers.

to connect internet software access to internet by other port, diagnostic port used for firmware upgrade, unlock and other functions. Maybe you can try other PC ?

                              No luck,
I have tried 2 other PC's with the unbranded drivers & im getting the same results. Diagnostic port not found. I have even tried using yet another simcard (DODO), which i think is Optus based. Is it possible that Three AU has modified the modem to make it harder to utilize the diagnostic port?
