  • ZTE AC30 I cannot unlock it

I cannot get this modem to unlock. My machine sees it. I can get the diagnostic portion of dc unlocker to see it. I cannot get it to unlock however. When I select ZTE and run autodetect it cannot find the modem. When I select the modem number and hit detect it cannot find it. When I select the modem number and run diagnostics it can find it. Wuzzzzzz Uuuuuup?

If you say that when you "select the modem number and run diagnostics" and DC-Unlocker detects it, then try to unlock it.

It does not give me the option. When I click the "Unlocking" button it sends me to "Diagnostic". After I find the correct port and Diagnostic sees the modem I click the "Unlocking" button. The button that says "unlock" is not illuminated and does nothing. After clicking "unlocking" the machine justs sits there for hours and nothing happens.

Do you see your modem in "Ports" and "Modems" section in Device Manager? How is your modem named there?

In Modems it is "ZTE Proprietary USB Modem". In Ports it is "ZTE NMEA Device (Com 5)".

Try to click "Enable diagnostic port" in DC-Unlocker. After that try detecting and unlocking your router.

That is what I have been doing to get to the point where I am at. I have been clicking "Enable Diagnostic Port". That is the only way I have gotten anywhere with it.

Even after enabling the diagnostic port you can not detect it by dc-unlocker?
If you are able to detect, could you copy here what is detected?

Were you able to detect modem by dc-unlocker???
If so, copy here what is detected.
When I click the "Unlocking" button it sends me to "Diagnostic - what do you mean?
You are not able to do unlock untill modem is not detected.

The previous posts are what was detected.

"Enabling ZTE diagnostic port ... OK

                        Restarting modem ... OK

Diagnostic port successfully enabled ! "

Above and the attached page in my post after the above. That second post is a picture of my screen.

This is text of diagnostic port enabling. Not detect. I think you do not know how to do unlock.
Please first watch this tutorial: http://www.dc-unlocker.com/tutorials
You need first to detect modem (dc-unlocker should see it first) then you would be able to unlock it.

I got it to unlock. It did not have all the drivers installed for some reason. After I installed all the drivers it still wouldn't auto detect but when I told it what modem and what ports to use it found the modem. The funny part was it said the sim was already unlocked. Now that I know it is unlocked, what do I do about using it for access?

                            Thanks for all your help.

                              ZTE Now What?

Now that the ZTE AC30 is unlocked, what do I do with it? How do I use it as a 3G, 5 user hot spot?
